Key Milestones 2009-2012

Crystal-clear objectives: Ensure that Switzerland qualifies and is able to send athletes to the next Olympic Games, and win a medal for Switzerland!

2009 :
Transition year and increase sailing experience on various boats

- Physical and stamina preparation
- Match-racing and sailing on  the Pro circuit with Decision 35 catamaran “Ladycat”
- Progress with University


2010 : Full time sailing on the Laser World Cup pro circuit
Rise into the world elite to reach the top 10 (again !)

- Training volume in Australia
- Consolidate the financial side of the Olympic project.
- Top 10 at the European Championships and World Cup
- Top 15 at the World Championships in Scotland


2011 :
Full-time professional training
National qualification and athlete’s selection for the Games

- Top 8 at the Pre-Olympic Test Event in Weymouth, England
- Top 10 in the ISAF World championships in Perth, Australia


2012 :
Win a medal for Switzerland

- Fulfil individual athlete qualification for the Olympic Games
- Top 5 at the World Championships
- Targeted training for the Olympic races in Weymouth

Preparation

Becoming an elite sportswoman requires a perfect blend of talent, ambition and commitment.

The 3 sides of the athlete’s life (sport, job, private) must be well balanced.
In order to achieve the medal’s goal, Nathalie has again committed herself full time – sailing or training for more than 230 days per year, in Switzerland and abroad in the World Cup circuit.
